MASTERS OF PHYSIOTHERAPY (LA TROBE UNIVERSITY)

 

Sarah is an experienced physiotherapist with an interest in treating a range of conditions from injury rehabilitation to complex chronic issues and disabilities. She obtained a Masters in Physiotherapy from La Trobe University in 2014 after moving to Australia from Canada.

Sarah has also obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science and Psychology and a Diploma in Remedial Massage.  Sarah began working as a remedial massage therapist in 2008 and brings a wealth of experience in using manual therapy alongside exercise and lifestyle modifications to assist in injury management. Representing Canada in the sport of synchronized skating, where her team, NEXXICE, won a bronze medal at the 2007 World Championships, has provided Sarah with good insight into the rehabilitation process particularly within high level sport.

Sarah has spent time working in occupational rehabilitation, assisting members of the Australian Defense Force return to a fully employable and deployable status; and she has worked with the National Panel of Assessors under the Job Access program, completing Worksite Modification Assessments for people living and working with disabilities, helping to create equity within the workplace.

Sarah has a collaborative, considered and pragmatic approach to physiotherapy, working with clients to understand and navigate the barriers they may be facing within their healthcare.
